Ends & Endings explore poems, visual poetry, and hybrid works that center around the place known as the end. The end of a relationship, the end of an era, the end of the road, the other end of a phone call, the other end of a rainbow, the end of a poem, or the how in which we end: in a blazing firework, in quiet acceptance, in resistance, in love— we are interested in all type of ends and endings in the poetic form.

ENDS & ENDINGS is the final issue of Gasher Journal. We hope you will help us celebrate the wonderful life this journal has had over the past 6 years as we turn our attention toward our book/chapbook press.

Guidelines for submitting are as follows:

  • Please submit no more than 3 previously unpublished poems, visual poems, and/or hybrid pieces that correspond to the theme.
  • We welcome simultaneous submission but please be prompt in withdrawing your piece if it is accepted elsewhere (you can withdraw individual pieces by using the comment section in Submittable).
  • Each contributor will receive 1 free copy of the issue upon publication. Additional copies can be preordered at a discounted price + free shipping when submitting.
  • Please include an author bio with an updated mailing address.
  • If accepted, all contributors must participate in a three-question interview related to craft and the issue's theme.

Other Details:

  • Results of the submission period will be announced to submitters September 15th, 2024.
  • The issue will be released May 2025 as a perfect bound, print journal issue.
